Hossler Lab, Wright State University Department of Biological Sciences

Our lab focuses on biochemical cycling of carbon through inland waters. We will be using hyperspectral reflectance to study the character and composition of dissolved organic carbon from headwater streams to large order rivers. We also have teamed up with Dr. Josh Ash in Electrical Engineering to provide reference spectra for various urban surfaces (i.e., asphalt vs. brick roads) used to train algorithms that decompose hyperspectral satellite land-use data.
